Digitizing

What is "digitizing"?  It is the process of generating stitches to produce a design, i.e. a logo.  A picture file such as a .bmp or .jpeg contains pixels which are not readable by an embroidery machine.  To transfer your picture into embroidery, a stitch file must be created.  This tells the machine how dense to make the stitches; what type of stitches to use; what order to sew the elements; and when to insert a color change, tie off or trim.  It is like computer programming for an embroidery machine.

Pricing

Pricing is determined by the complexity of the design.  Please fax,  email or send us your artwork for a quote.  Please include information such as the size of the design, target fabric (e.g. knits, wovens), design use (e.g. left chest, caps), colors, preferred shipping method, disk format and any other specific instructions you may have.

Artwork

The quality of the artwork you provide will determine the quality of the design you receive.  Vector art is preferred.  If you've had business cards or letterhead printed, you will probably have this on disk.  Vector files we can accept include: Adobe Illustrator (.AI), Encapsulated Post Script (.EPS) or AutoCad (.DXF).  It is important that text be converted to outlines or curves BEFORE e-mailing. If a vector format is not available, a .JPG, .GIF, .BMP or .TIF is acceptable.  If any of the above are not available, camera ready art can be submitted.

Artwork submitted to Caroline's Stitch Works is the property of the customer.  It will not be used for another design unless consent to do so is given.  In no circumstances will Caroline's Stitch Works, LLC accept responsibility for copyright infringement.

Policies

    General

Design errors not reported within 10 business days of receipt of the design will be subject to editing fees.

We will suggest necessary changes to artwork (if needed) when we quote on your artwork.  Suggested changes usually include copy that is too small to be legible and excessive detail that will not work well in embroidery.  If you insist a design is punched in a manner inconsistent with our recommendations and the design does not work, you will be charged for the edit or repunch of the design.

Designs are digitized based in the artwork received and design consultation suggestions.  If your design does not sew correctly or we have made omission errors, we will correct the problem immediately.  Any changes to the submitted artwork after the design is punched will be subject to an edit or repunch fee.

If embroidery production is being done outside of Caroline's Stitch Works, LLC; always test a design before beginning production runs.  In no circumstances will Caroline's Stitch Works accept responsibility for damages goods or copyright infringement.
